what i've learned along the way

I'm just curious to know if other folks out there in this screwed up, dysfuntional world are able to trust in a loving Father who supposedly has our best interest at heart. What is it that we expect from Him?

Haven't seen you in a while and we miss seeing you. We obviously need to talk sometime. But I guess the question is, what DO you expect from God?

My answer is yes.....should be with my screen name..LOL.

What do I expect from him? I expect that he will be coming back for me and that the rest of his promises will come to pass. I'm just hoping it's soon!! Other than that He's already done so much for me and my family I hardly dare expect anything else. I'm more in the realm of being grateful than having expectations.

I think He's just a kid with an ant farm....He pokes, shakes, messes with us in any way He feels like and we have to take it no matter what. He may be fond of us, but we certainly get screwed from time to time.

What is trust, lobster? And how many of us truly possess it? Can we say that if God called us up as He did the Egyptians, and led us through the desert, we would depend on Him for provision, or would we lean primarily on our human understanding?

Do I trust god? Yes, but not enough.

I like your questions, lobster, even though I can't give the best answers. Keep 'em coming

I'm still chewing on that, and yes we probably should get together soon. Expectations puzzle me.

Thanks for your sunshine theology. The world needs folks like you who wear rose-colored glasses. I'm glad you are able to live in a place of gratitude. I visit there from time to time.

nope.

Honesty. Ah! Isn't it refreshing.

Interesting perspective. I do believe He is is fond of us, and I do believe we get screwed from time to time. Are these paradoxes?

How much is enough? Thanks for reminding me about the Isrealites.

No, not at all...think of it like a soap opera or sitcom. If you're watching a show and everyone's life turned out perfect everytime and nothing bad ever happened, then would you want to even bother watching it? I think we're like a reality tv show...if you watch South Park there was an episode like that, except there were aliens...and hopefully we get into heaven for being "good sports". At least that's the theory I just came up with while I started rambling....I tend to do that. So, we're here for amusement, I think.
